Celebrating Progress And how to maintain momentum

Jennah Nelson, Ivim Functional Nutrition Coach, FMCHC, RYT
As you move along in your journey, it’s important to focus on the small victories. We often look toward the big milestones as a marker for success. While major milestones should certainly be celebrated, providing yourself with intermittent steps of gratitude for the smaller victories is even more achievable and significantly more rewarding.
Acknowledging the small habit changes, day-by-day and week-by-week, will allow you to maintain your focus on progress. And progression, even if slow but steady, is what ultimately leads to long term success. Progression lies in the daily journey and the work you put in for small, incremental change, day in and day out. Allow yourself to lay the foundation on which you can layer the building blocks to achieving a healthier version of you.
So how do we celebrate your progression and use it to fuel momentum? By incorporating methods like tracking, journaling and involving friends and loved ones on your journey for change. Track your progress and chart your journal to maintain perspective. Not every method will work for everyone, but finding the one that works for you is important.
Utilize the Ivim Health mobile app to track your progress, chart in your daily journal, and share with friends and family in your journey of success. Tracking will allow for you to objectively assess your progress, strengths and weaknesses, and set a target with measurable data to provide perspective on where you started, where you are, and where you want to be. Journaling provides a more cerebral approach, allowing you to assess how you’ve been feeling and how you’ve scored yourself in nutrition, exercise habits, and mental mindset. You can also keep notes outside of the app for an even greater mental release and ability to look back retrospectively on your mindset throughout your journey. With either approach, having a supportive community around you helps build confidence, creates a psychologically safe environment, and allows you to relish in not only your own success, but the success of those around you.
So carry on, keep building, and celebrate your progress! We’re on this journey with you!
